MILLTOWN, NJ - The borough has a day full of Fourth of July fun planned and residents should expect and plan for traffic delays and closures according to a Nixle released by the Milltown Police Department. Festivities will begin a 6 a.m. at Mill Pond. The annual Milltown Rescue Squad Fishing Derby is on now that Mill Pond has been reopened to the public.
Residents should expect traffic delays in the morning due to the Milltown Firecracker 5K, which kicks off at 8:10 a.m. on Violet Terrace. The Fun Run begins at 7:45 a.m.
Traffic will again be impacted by the Fourth of July Parade, which is set to start at 10 a.m. at VanLiew Avenue. The parade will proceed from VanLiew Avenue to Main Street. It will continue down Main Street before turning left on Lincoln Avenue and left on JFK Boulevard. The parade will conclude at Borough Park.
Vehicles will not be allowed to park on either side of Violet Terrace from 6 a.m. until after the evening's fireworks are over. Parking restrictions will be in place on parts of Bruce Court with signs being placed to alert residents.
Residents should expect traffic delays related to the evening's fireworks at Borough Park as well. Fireworks are set to begin at dusk.
