NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ – If you bought a Cash 5 lottery ticket at Peter’s Liquors on Easton Avenue, your ticket could be worth $803,286, lottery officials said Tuesday.

The lucky retailer that sold the winning ticket is Peter’s Liquors Inc., 217 Easton Ave., New Brunswick in Middlesex County, the release said.

“We are thrilled that the winning jackpot ticket was sold at Peter’s Liquors Inc.,” Lottery Executive Director Carole Hedinger said in the release. “The retailer will receive a bonus check for $2,000 for selling the winning ticket. Overnight, they have become one more ‘lucky location’ for the very fortunate lottery winner.”

Michael Chedid, who manages the store with other members of his family, said the store has had small winners before, but “not a top prize winner.”

Chedid’s father bought the store in 1984 and are celebrating being in business at the location for more than 30 years, he said.

“I hope it is one of the regulars,” Chedid said. “We had a $25,000 instant ticket once, and another gentleman won $700 on a Pick 5.”

Chedid said only about one percent of the store’s business is in lottery ticket sales, but there are a number of regular players at the business.

In the release, Hedinger said there were 750,161 tickets purchased for the drawing.

She also said by adding XTRA, for an additional $1.00 per play, winners are able to multiply their non-jackpot prizes by the XTRA number drawn.

For correctly matching four of the five numbers drawn, 115 ticketholders won $552 each and 19 others won $2,760 each with the addition of XTRA, she said.

Moreover, for correctly matching three of the five numbers drawn, 4,680 ticketholders won $15.00 and 627 others won $75 each with the addition of XTRA, according to the release.

Lastly, 8,164 ticketholders each won $2 for correctly matching two of the five numbers drawn with the addition of XTRA on their purchase, the release said.

No one has come forward as of yet to claim the prize.
