Nick Moran Tops Leader Board for Goals

SPOTSWOOD, NJ - Junior Nick Moran sits on top of the leader board in goals for the Boys 2015 Soccer season. Currently, Moran has 12 goals for the Spotswood High School boys varsity soccer team. Tafari Hogarth of Roselle and Gerald Cubero of Bound Brook both have seven goals to round out the top three goal scorers of the season thus far.

The statistics were complied by njsports.com and are recorded based on the stats that are reported by high school soccer coaches and designated team correspondents throughout the state.

The Chargers are enjoying a terrific start to the 2015 boys varsity soccer season. Currently, they are 4-0.

Senior Dylan Blado also made the list of top goal scorers with four. Blado has eight points for the season with four goals and four assists. He made the list for assist leaders as well along with teammate Andrew Picado. The senior has four assists in the first four games along with two goals.

Goalie Zach Rodriguez is seventh on the list of league-leading netminders with 31 saves. The senior has been between the pipes for all of the Chargers' wins.

Moran started the season on fire for Spotswood, scoring four goals in their season opener against Piscataway. He went on to net a hat trick against Highland Park in the second game before adding another four against Carteret. Last season, Moran had one goal and one assist. Currently, he has 12 goals and two assists for the Chargers.

The Chargers look to continue their great run against Wardlaw-Hartridge of Edison this afternoon. The contest begins at 4 p.m. on the Spotswood High School varsity soccer field.
