SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ - Local residents have been waiting online at the New Jersey Motor Vehicles Commission in Dayton since 5 a.m., according to reports from the South Brunswick Police Department.

Cars have been backed up onto Route 130 for a half mile with hundreds of residents waiting on line with an estimated three-hour wait time. South Brunswick police officers are at the scene to help maintain the line. Residents are instructed to avoid this area around Route 130 if possible.

All MVCs in New Jersey opened Monday for transactions that cannot be done online. The South Brunswick location will be able to issue registrations and titles, salvage titles and license plate transactions and provide services to dealers. Social distancing measures must be taken both inside and outside the facility. Patrons and employees must wear masks.
