SPOTSWOOD, NJ - Both the Spotswood High School boys and girls varsity basketball teams have had their ups and downs on the court this season. However, the two teams will be in action when the NJSIAA Central Jersey Group Two Tournament hits the court running at the end of the month.

The girls varsity's current record is 14-8. They will be seeded twelfth in the tournament and will take on fifth seeded Newark Tech. The Terriers are 16-4 and 10-0 in conference play. Spotswood will travel to Newark for the February 27 game. Tip off is at 6 p.m.

On the boys side, the Chargers grabbed the last seed in the tournament and will take on top seeded Rumson-Fair Haven High School. Currently, the Chargers are 5-16 and are in the midst of a seven game losing streak. They are 1-8 in conference play. The Bulldogs possess an 18-1 overall record and are 11-0 in conference play. Spotswood will head to Rumson for the February 27 game, which will begin at 7 p.m.
