EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ - On December 12, at approximately 3:07 p.m., Patrol Units responded to the intersection of Highway 18 and Edgeboro Road for a motor vehicle crash.
When a vehicle was traveling South on Route 18 through the intersection of Edgeboro Road, it struck the center median, sending the vehicle into the traffic light, knocking it over on the southbound side of the road. Another vehicle struck the downed traffic light, according to a report issued by the East Brunswick Police Department today.
The driver was identified as a 29-year-old male from Monroe Township. He had minor injuries and was taken to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital.
Despite the accident scene and the downed utility pole, the center and right lanes were able to stay open on the northbound side, as was the right lane on the southbound side. The wires and light were later removed from the roadway, opening all lanes to traffic.
