SPOTSWOOD, NJ - The transition from elementary school to middle school can often be nerve-wracking and stressful for both the student and his or her parents. In order to make the change run more smoothly, the Memorial Middle School will be holding the first of two orientations for September's incoming sixth graders during the school day on Monday, June 5. However, in the evening there will be a parent orientation as well.

Assistant Superintendent and acting Memorial Middle School Principal, Graham Peabody is encouraging future Memorial Middle School parents to save the date for this important event. The Sixth Grade Parent Orientation will be held on Monday, June 5 at 6:30 p.m. at the Memorial Middle School.

In the past, this event has been held in August in the evening after the incoming sixth graders have received their schedules, locker assignments and took part in another tour of the facility. However, this year, the school is taking a different approach with the hopes an earlier orientation for parents and guardians will make the tweens' entrance into the middle school years a bit easier.
