MILLTOWN, NJ - It may seem unnerving to see back-to-school supplies making their way into supermarket and store shelves, especially since summer vacation still has more than a month to go. However, the sales have started and for borough moms and dads that want to get a head start on the school supply shopping, supply lists are available on both the Parkview School and Joyce Kilmer School websites.

For parents of students attending the Parkview School, the supply list can be found by clicking on the 2017-18 School Supply list under the Parents icon. Separate lists are available for preschool, kindergarten, first, second and third grades.

School supply lists can be found for grades fourth through eighth on the Joyce Kilmer School website by clicking on the Classroom Supply List icon under the parents heading. There is a separate list for each grade level.

Spotswood High School does not normally post a school supply list. Typically, teachers will let students know what specific items outside of the basics their class requires on the first day of school. Spotswood High School will hold an orientation for incoming freshmen on Thursday, August 24 from 8:30 a.m. until noon.

Summer assignments for Spotswood High School students taking honors and AP classes can be found on the school's website by clicking on the Summer Work icon under Latest News.

The Woman in the Window by A.J. Finn (William Morrow, 2018)

A friend, whose opinion on literature I respect greatly, reported to me recently that she had just finished reading A.J. Finn's debut novel, The Woman in the Window. Of it she said, “I wish I hadn't finished it,” which I interpreted to mean, “It was so good I'm sorry that I finished it.” ...
