Somerville: Bishop James Checchio Presides at Immaculata High School Graduation

SOMERVILLE, NJ --- Diocese of Metuchen Bishop James Checchio presided at Friday’s graduation of 107 seniors from Immaculata High School.

Megan Adam of  Bridgewater was Valedictorian for the  Class of 2018; Meaghan O’Connor of Branchburg was the Salutatorian.

There was much to celebrate, as the graduating class will receive $13.7 million in scholarships from the colleges and universities they will attend.

Other notable statistics:

90% of students were accepted to their first choice schools;

75% of students graduated with college scholarships, with over 55% receiving full or half tuition awards;

80% of students receiving scholarships are worth more than the cost of an Immaculata education.

Extreme Heat Forecast Forces Early Dismissal at 3 City Schools

NEW BRUNSWICK - Students Roosevelt, Lincoln and Livingston schools will have an early dismissal at 1:40 p.m. on Monday because of the anticipated high temperatures.
