SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ – Township police are asking for help to identify a man suspected of perpetrating a bank scam on a 19-year-old Middlesex County woman.

According to police, the unidentified man, with a username of “Mulamaker,” contacted the woman on the Instagram social media network with a direct message on June 22.

Police said that he offered the woman an amount of money if she would allow him to use her debit card and pin as well as her login information at Capital One Bank.

The woman agreed to meet the man at the Tilted Kilt on Route 1 at noon, giving him her card, pin number and online information, police said.

The man allegedly told the woman that he would withdraw an amount of money as part of the deal, but would then deposit funds shortly after the transaction, according to police.

She checked the account later in the day and saw that he did withdraw about $250 from a Newark ATM and deposited checks totaling around $3,000, which eventually bounced, police said.

The victim’s mother told the woman that the incident was most likely a scam and advised her to cancel the card and notify the bank, police said.

Capital One told the woman that it could only freeze the account and would not investigate the incident until a police report was made, police said.

She told police that the man contacted at least two other people at the restaurant.

Police said the investigation is ongoing and are asking the public if they can identify video surveillance footage of the man.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call police at (732) 329-4646.

Retro Review: Johnny Got His Gun by Dalton Trumbo

Retro Review: Johnny Got His Gun by Dalton Trumbo (Citadel Press, 1970)

How does a reviewer do justice to a book called “the great American novel”? I first read Johnny Got His Gun during the Viet Nam war, when young people, nationwide, were protesting fighting in a war that was a senseless waste of life; a war in which the United States had no business participating.

The Truth About My Reading

I didn't get my Composition and Literature teacher at Montclair State College at all. A crusty old man with a dour disposition, Mr. Smith always seemed angry and rude. He appropriately intimidated freshmen, even me, an English major, who found this common core course beneath my dignity. Frankly, as a graduate of Highland Park High School, and a survivor of Mrs.
