South Plainfield Teacher Charged with Sending Illicit Photos to Student

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ – Mallory Christ, 29, of South Plainfield has been charged with a second-degree count of endangering the welfare of a child for allegedly sending inappropriate images to a male student.

According to Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew C. Carey and South Plainfield Police Chief James Parker, Christ, a South Plainfield High School teacher, sent two inappropriate photos to a male student via social media. The photos of herself were sent to the student sometime in February.

Christ, who was charged on Monday, is being held without bail at the Middlesex County Adult Corrections Center in North Brunswick.

She was charged during an investigation by Detective Shaun Clifford of the South Plainfield Police Department and Detective Felix De La Cruz of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office.

The investigation began after school officials learned of the photos, which were posted via social media, and contacted police.

Christ, who was employed at the district for two years, worked at the high school as a math teacher, offering courses in algebra to juniors and math to seniors. She also served as the coach of the high school cheerleaders.

She previously was employed as a teacher at Sayreville War Memorial High School.
