SPOTSWOOD, NJ - The Spotswood High School varsity baseball team defeated Monroe High School, 4-3, on Saturday, April 15. Their win improves the Chargers overall season record to 5-3. They remain undefeated in league play with a 3-0 record. Senior Andrew Fuzesi got his first win on the mound, pitching three innings and giving up two runs on five hits. Nate Carone also pitched three innings for the Chargers, allowing one run on two hits. Senior Chris Auciello pitched one inning and got one strikeout for Spotswood. Erick Heatter struck out four batters for Monroe while Anthony Bruno pitched three and two thirds innings,giving up four runs on five hits. Bruno struck out three batters.

Matt Sorrento was two-for-four for the Falcons while Chris Perdoni was one-for-three with a homerun. JT Vento was two-for-two for the Chargers with three RBIs. The senior also hit a homerun in the victory. Nick Vincelli was one-for three, scoring two runs.

The Chargers will travel to Edison on Monday, April 17 for a 3:45 p.m. game against Bishop Ahr High School. It will be their first game back after a week-long spring break.
