EDISON, NJ - Wardlaw-Hartridge High School knocked the 17th seeded Spotswood High School boys varsity basketball team out of the Greater Middlesex Conference Tournament with a 52-48 overtime victory. Saivon Pressley fueled the 16th seeded Rams with a 24-point performance. The two teams went into overtime in the preliminary round of the county tournament knotted at 46. Spotswood was outscored 6-2 to make an early exit from GMC play. Wardlaw-Hartridge moves on to face top seeded St. Joseph's of Metuchen in the first round on Thursday.

Mehkai Huey scored 16 points for the Rams and Saleem Ibraheem grabbed 15 rebounds. Andrew Bishara was Spotswood's top scorer with 15 points. James Clarke netted 11 for the Chargers while George Guyette scored nine. Kyle Davey added eight points and Darius Harrison chipped in five.

The Greater Middlesex Conference Junior Varsity Tournament gets under way this afternoon at Piscataway High School. Spotswood's varsity is back on the court on Friday when the Chargers host Jackson Liberty High School at the Spotswood High School Gymnasium at 6 p.m. This is the first meeting between the two teams. Jackson has an overall record of 3-18 and is in the midst of a four-game losing streak.
