SPOTSWOOD, NJ - The Spotswood High School boys varsity basketball team lost to Carteret High School on January 13, 72-53 despite Andrew Fuzesi's game-high 21 points for the Chargers. It was two Ramblers who put up a combined 40 points that helped put Carteret over the top on the scoreboard. Isaiah Daniels-Porter netted the majority of his 20 points in the first half, scoring 18. Daniels-Porter also pulled down nine rebounds. Jemar Jordan also scored 20 points for Carteret with more than half of his points coming in the third and fourth quarters. Abdullah Nieskens scored 10 points for Spotswood while sophomore Matt Vento chipped in eight. Senior JT Vento added six points and also pulled down seven rebounds.
The loss drops the Chargers' overall record on the season to 4-6. They are 1-4 in conference play. Spotswood will look to rebound with a win against Arthur L. Johnson High School on Saturday, January 14 with a 1 p.m. home game. The team will then travel to Robbinsville on Martin Luther King Jr. Day for a 1 p.m. contest matchup Robbinsville High School.
