SPOTSWOOD, NJ - The Spotswood High School boys varsity basketball team dropped its second straight game to Metuchen High School on January 27, 53-42. Spotswood was down 24-19 at the half, but the Bulldogs held them to only 10 points in the third quarter, building a 12-point lead. Metuchen's Thomas Christine scored a game-high 18 points while Devin Miller netted 12 for the Bulldogs. Danny Flaherty chipped in 11 for Metuchen.
Matt Vento was the top scorer for the Chargers, putting 13 on the scoreboard. JT Vento added 11 points for Spotswood while Vinnie Guardiola earned seven. The loss moves the Chargers' overall record on the season to 5-11. Their conference record dropped to 1-6. Spotswood also lost its previous outing to Metuchen in December. The Chargers will look to stop the skid at two against Monroe High School on Saturday, January 28. Tip off is at 1:30 p.m. in Monroe.
