SPOTSWOOD, NJ - The Spotswood High School boys varsity basketball team won its home opener against Carteret with a strong performance, 63-47. After holding onto a five-point lead going into the fourth quarter, the Chargers pushed the game wide open in the fourth. They outscored the Ramblers, 22-11, to claim the victory, which pulls their overall record to 2-0 and 1-0 in conference play.
Senior guard Eric Dadika scored 19 points for the Chargers. Fellow senior Marlon Hart was equally dominate, netting 18 points. Nine of Hart's points game in the decisive fourth quarter.
Junior Andrew Fuzesi had another strong game for Spotswood, scoring nine points. Senior Dan Newton chipped in two points and sophomore Vinnie Guardiola added three.
Humberto Jimenez was the high scorer for the Ramblers, netting 12 points.
Spotswood will look to continue their winning ways on the court on Wednesday, December 23 against the Urban Leadership Charter a 6 p.m. home game.
