Spotswood Community-Wide Yard Sale Attracts Buyers And Sellers

SPOTSWOOD, NJ - For folks that love a good yard sale, Spotswood has one going on this weekend with 47 families throughout the borough filling up their driveways with a wide variety of items to sell. The sale is taking place on Saturday, June 24 and Sunday, June 25 from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.

A Google map lists the addresses of the participating homes. It's color-coded to determine, which homes are hosting a yard sale for one day or two. Red indicates the homes that are participating in the yard sale on both June 24 and June 25 while blue pinpoints the homes that were only selling items on Saturday, June 24. Green depicts the homes that are participating only on Sunday, June 25.

In order to take part in the community-wide sale, each participant purchased an application for $20. All of the proceeds from the application sale will benefit the Spotswood Police Department's Special Events Fund and Community Outreach Program. This year's community-wide yard sale raised $940.

In Cold Blood by Truman Capote

In Cold Blood by Truman Capote (Random House, 1965)

In Cold Blood is, quite simply, the grand-daddy of true crime writing, dubbed by Capote, himself, as the first non-fiction novel (although Norman Mailer argued the point when he published The Executioner's Song in 1979.) The conditions under which I read In Cold Blood for the first time were pretty weird, which was another ...
