NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ - The Spotswood High School boys tennis team defeated New Brunswick High School on Wednesday, 5-0. Spotswood doubles teams won by forfeit while all three singles won in straight sets. Derek Miller defeated Brandon Jimenez-Castillo, (6-0, 6-0), Jason Acheampong beat Kevin Cruz in his second singles match, (6-0, 6-0) and Bryan Chan won over Alex Sarahia-Sanchez, (6-0, 6-0). Spotswood travels to Spring Lake Park in South Plainfield today to play the Tigers. South Plainfield High School has a 3-4 record the season. The April 17 victory over New Brunswick improved Spotswood's overall record to 3-3. Matches begin at 4 p.m. This is the first meeting between Spotswood and South Plainfield.
