SPOTSWOOD, NJ - As residents dive into the post Tropical Storm Isaias cleanup, the Spotswood Department of Public Works is offering a helping hand. The DPW will be picking up downed tree limbs and branches on Thursday, August 6, Friday, August 7 and Monday, August 10. The limbs or branches should be placed on the curb and not be larger than six inches in diameter.
The Spotswood Police Department is also reminding residents via Nixle to take care when driving, walking, running and biking around the borough because of downed trees, branches and power lines. Utility crews are working to restore power outages. Mayor Ed Seely provided an update to residents still without power, saying JCP&L is working on it and power may be restored as soon as this afternoon or in a few days. Residents that have not reported their outage should contact JCP&L directly by calling 888-544-4877 or by texting OUT to 544487.
