SAYREVILLE, NJ - The Spotswood High School girls varsity tennis team ended the 2019 season with a 3-2 loss to Sayreville War Memorial High School. The loss drops the Chargers overall season record to 5-13. Axelle Lemiere and the second doubles team of Melody Dzergoski and Angelina Moschella earned the two match points for Spotswood.

Lemiere won her third singles match over Julia Kitrys after dropping the second set, (6-1). She rallied back to take the third and deciding set, (6-4). Dzergoski and Moschella won in straight sets over Anushka Kandu and Gabby Capiello, (6-2, 6-1). Spotswood's first doubles team of Chloe Donelan and Lindsey Michaels lost a tough three setter to Grace Ekpe and Camilla Rutowski. The pair lost the first set and rallied to take the second set to even the match, but lost, (7-5), in the third set.

Gabriella Zeron lost her first singles match to Liana Masangkay, (6-4, 6-3) while Karen Mausser dropped her second singles match to Masmine Yehudaioff, (6-2, 6-2).
