Spotswood First Responders To Hold Hurricane Harvey Collection


SPOTSWOOD, NJ - As the flood waters continue to mount due to the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, residents of Houston and a large portion of Southwest Texas are left devastated. Fourteen people are confirmed dead, including a family of six whose minivan was swept away by rushing flood waters.

In an effort to help the more than 30,000 people pushed from their homes, Spotswood first responders are holding a Hurricane Harvey Collection at the Spotswood Fire House on Wednesday, August 30 and Thursday, August 31. Items can be dropped off at the fire house located at 495 Main Street from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m.

The collection is seeking the following items:

  • baby diapers
  • baby formula
  • non-perishable food items

At this time, clothing is not being accepted.

All of the supplies collected by the Spotswood Police Department, Fire Department, EMS and Office of Emergency Management on August 30 and August 31 will be shipped directly to Texas.
