Spotswood Girls Fall To JP Stevens On The Court

EDISON, NJ - After gutting out a victory against Monroe High School over the weekend, the Spotswood High School girls varsity basketball team lost to JP Stevens High School, 43-19. The Hawks defense held the Chargers to only 11 points in the first half with all of Spotswood's points coming in the first eight minutes. JP Stevens kept Spotswood off the scoreboard entirely in the second quarter and held them to only eight in the second half.

Jamyra Maye was the star of the game for both sides. Maye netted 22 points for the Hawks and grabbed 12 rebounds. Disha Prabhudesai scored for JP Stevens in the win. Erin Malin was the top point scorer for Spotswood with six points. Maddie Hellerich scored five while Savannah Robinson chipped in three for the Chargers.

The loss drops the Chargers record for the 2016-17 season to 10-8. They are 7-4 in conference play. The Chargers will take on Middlesex High School at the Spotswood High School Gymnasium at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, February 1.
