WOODBRIDGE, NJ - After winning their first two matches, the Spotswood High School girls tennis team dropped their next two, losing Friday to Woodbridge High School, 3-2. Spotswood won the previous meeting between the two teams by a score of 3-2.

All three Chargers singles players lost their matches while the doubles teams came away with wins. Mirit Girgis lost her first singles match to Brianna Davis, (6-0, 6-0) while Gabriela Zeron dropped her second singles match to Helen Loda, (6-1, 6-0). Marina Girgis lost her third singles match to Sherri Lee, (6-3, 6-1). Alix Lemiere and Emily Michaels defeated Pooja Patel and Jada Murphy, (6-1, 6-1) in their first doubles match to earn Spotswood first team point of the contest. Elizabeth Sullivan and Delaney Yaniak lost the first set of their second doubles match to Soumia Marcali and Mishal Hakki, (7-5) before bouncing back to take the next two sets, (6-4, 11-9). Since the match outcome was already decided with the three Woodbridge singles victories, the second doubles teams played a tie-breaker to decide the third set.

The team will head to the Greater Middlesex Conference Tennis Tournament on Monday at Middlesex County College in Edison before returning to regular season play on Tuesday with a match against Sayreville High School at Kennedy Park in Sayreville.
