SPOTSWOOD, NJ - The Spotswood High School girls varsity soccer team lost its second game of the season to Metuchen this morning, 3-1. Their loss was the first in 12 games, dropping the Chargers' overall record to 12-2-1 for the season. They are 12-1-1 in the conference.

Metuchen has a 13-2 overall record on the 2015 season and is 12-2 in conference play. Spotswood is ranked sixth in the Greater Middlesex Conference and Metuchen is just below them at seventh in the rankings that were released on October 14.

Katharine Chura netted two goals for Metuchen while Alexa Craft-Zaletel scored one. Rory Josell assisted on all three of Metuchen's goals. Emily Buchanan made two saves.

Danielle Wittig scored the lone goal for Spotswood. Lizzie Vignuolo made six saves for the Chargers.

Spotswood will conclude their regular season games on Monday, October 19 with an away matchup with Edison at 4 p.m. They will then look to the GMC Tournament, which begins next week.

The Chargers will play in the first round and need to wait out the Play-In and Pre-lim round games in their bracket to see who their opponent will be.
