SPOTSWOOD, NJ - After finally breaking through in the win column on Friday, the Spotswood High School girls varsity basketball team's tough season continued yesterday with a 46-33 loss to Edison. Since the start of the New Year, the Chargers have only won two of their last seven games. The loss to the Eagles moves their overall record down to 5-7. Their conference record remains 3-2.

Courtney Potter was the top point-getter for Spotswood in the loss, scoring eight. Mary Beth Barnosky and Erin Malin both contributed seven points. Grace Mehr added four while Maria Izzo netted three. Caitlyn LeRoy and Jessica Meagher both chipped in two.

Samira Sargently had the hot hand for Edison, scoring 14 points. Ashley Hunt scored 11 for the Eagles.

The Chargers will have a couple of days off to regroup before taking on Wardlaw-Hartridge at home on Wednesday, January 20 at 4:15 p.m.
