Spotswood Girls Varsity Basketball Wins Third Straight

CLARK, NJ - The Spotswood High School girls varsity basketball team defeated Mother Seton Regional High School, 57-22 on Wednesday for their tenth win of the season. Spotswood's defense held the Setters to 10 first half points, taking a 29-10 lead into the break. The Chargers outscored Mother Seton 28-12 in the second half to improve their overall record to 10-4.

Maddie Hellerich netted 12 points for Spotswood, including six steals. Amber Meagher had ten points while Courtney Potter and Erin Malin both chipped in six. Malin also had eight blocks in the game. Junior Angelina Perez had seven blocks and six rebounds. Brielle Robinson and Nedda Danso both scored five points for Mother Seton.

Spotswood's victory over Mother Seton moved their Greater Middlesex Conference Blue Division record to 8-1. The Chargers are currently second in the conference behind Middlesex High School. Spotswood will be back on the court on Friday against Metuchen High School at the Spotswood High School Gymnasium. Tip off is at 6 p.m. The Chargers won the previous meeting with the Bulldogs, 64-36.
