METUCHEN, NJ - The Spotswood High School girls varsity basketball team lost to Metuchen High School, 63-52, dropping their overall season record to 9-7. Their conference record fell to 7-4. The Farrell sisters proved difficult for the Charger defense to contain. Brynn Farrell earned a triple-triple in the game, netting 36 points, grabbing 21 rebounds and scoring 11 field goals. Kerri Farrell added 12 points and pulled down 10 rebounds. Rachel Wretzner chipped in 10 points for the Bulldogs in the win.

Maddie Hellerich was the top point getter for Spotswood, scoring 16 in the loss. Savannah Robinson and Mary Beth Barnosky both netted 10 in the game. The Chargers were down 38-27 at the halftime break and attempted to gain some ground on the scoreboard in the third and fourth quarters. Metuchen only outscored Spotswood by a three-point margin in the second half, but the deficit was already to big for the Chargers to close.

Spotswood will travel to Monroe High School for a Saturday morning contest on January 28. Tip off is at 11:30 a.m.
