DUNELLEN, NJ - The Spotswood High School girls varsity basketball team won their third straight game against Dunellen High School, 43-32 on Monday, February 6. The Chargers opened February with a 53-45 win against Middlesex  High School before defeating Highland Park, 47-34, on February 3. All three games were Greater Middlesex Conference Blue Division matchups. The win streak has increased Spotswood's conference record to 10-4. They are currently ranked fourth in the conference. South River sits atop the Blue Division with a 12-2 conference record.

Erin Malin was the top scorer for both sides in the victory over Dunellen. Malin netted 14 points. Maddie Hellerich added 11 points to the scoreboard for the Chargers. Mary Beth Barnosky scored eight points while Savannah Robinson chipped in six.

Alison McGrath and Erin Barnett both netted a dozen points for the Destroyers. McGrath also pulled down eight rebounds and had five steals. Alexandra Reidy grabbed 12 rebounds for Dunellen.

The two teams went into the halftime break knotted at 17. Spotswood opened up the scoring in the final two quarters, outscoring the Destroyers 26-15 to nail down the win. The Chargers will look to make it four straight against John F. Kennedy Memorial High School on Wednesday, February 8. Tip off is at 4 p.m. in Iselin.
