SPOTSWOOD, NJ - The Spotswood High School girls varsity tennis team beat Colonia, 5-0 yesterday to improve their overall record on the season to 8-6.

Taylor Latimer won her first singles match in straight sets, defeating Diya Pujara, 6-2, 6-0. Katie Rivera was victorious in her second singles match against Melissa Ngai, 6-2, 6-2. At third singles, Kaylie Writt also won in straight sets, beating Carolina Eng, 6-4, 6-2.

Michelle Krastck and Alexandra Tennill didn't lose a game in their first double match, sending Nauka Patel and Skylar Trela off the court quickly with a 6-0, 6-0 win. At second doubles, Isabella Santiago and Devin Ryan beat Sweta Patel and Veronica Esteves, 6-2, 6-2.

The Chargers conclude their 2015 season next week with away and home matches against South Plainfield.
