SPOTSWOOD, NJ - A recent rash of vehicle burglaries prompted the Spotswood Police Department to remind residents to lock their car doors when parked on the street and in driveways. The warning came via a Nixle advisory after 15 to 20 cars were robbed of loose change and cash that was left in the vehicles. All of the vehicles were unlocked and located in the areas of Janice Drive, Pamela Court and Karen Street. The robberies occurred on July 19 between the hours of midnight and 5 a.m.

At this time, the SPD does not have any suspects and are asking residents with information regarding these crimes to contact the department. The Spotswood Police Department recently installed a Crimes Tip Line where residents can report information about potential crimes or ongoing investigations. The tip line can be reached by dialing 732-251-2121 and entering extension 899.

Non-emergencies can be reported to the department by calling 732-251-2121. For emergencies, residents should dial 911.
