SPOTSWOOD, NJ - The Spotswood PTA will be setting up some slam dunks and basketball tricks courtesy of the Harlem Wizards on Saturday, November 5 at the Spotswood High School Gymnasium. The Harlem Wizards have been showing off their prowess on the court for more than 50 years. They began their slam dunk basketball and comedy show in 1962. It was the brainchild of New York sports promoter, Howie Davis. The Wizards bring together basketball showmanship, comedy and audience participation to give people a noteworthy night of entertainment.
An all-star team of Spotswood School District's teachers, staff and principals will be suiting up to take on the Wizards head to head. Last year's game featured lots of fun, laughs and smiles as the Spotswood Schoolers took on the Wizards. This year's rematch will feature an enthusiastic lineup of eduators.
For tickets, visit the Harlem Wizards website. Advanced tickets are $12 for general admission and include a .99 cent processing fee if purchased online. If the event is not sold out, tickets will be available at the door for $15. Doors open at 5 p.m. and tip off is at 6 p.m.
The Spotswood PTA will be selling food, drinks and Wizard souvenirs. There will also be a 50/50 raffle. All of the proceeds from the event will go to benefit the Spotswood PTA, which hosts numerous activities for students in the district including book fairs, ice cream socials and drop and go events.
Spotswood High School is located at 105 Summerhill Road.
