SPOTSWOOD, NJ - The public is still not allowed to enter the Spotswood Public Library. However, starting July 1, patrons can make an appointment to pick up library takeout. Books and DVDs currently available at the Spotswood Public Library can be put on hold and picked up when available. Pick up appointments are available Mondays and Wednesdays from 2 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The library has step-by-step directions for how to place a book on hold on the library's website. The maximum number of hold items is 10. A library card is necessary to put library items on hold. Once the book or other library items are available for pick up, the patron will receive a telephone call or an email. Holds can also be made by telephoning the Spotswood Public Library at 732-251-1515 or emailing the library at @spotslibrary.org.
When picking up hold items, patrons are required to wear a mask and practice social distancing. Patrons should park in the parking lot and then walk around to the entrance on Main Street. Items will be on a table in the lobby, labeled with the last three letters of the patron's last name and the last four numbers of the patron's barcode. The library staff will not be available for questions during pick up times.
Patrons with books to return from when the Spotswood Public Library was forced to shut because of the coronavirus pandemic can do so now. The library's outside book drop is open. Items taken out before the mid-March coronavirus shutdown are due back by Monday, July 6.
