SPOTSWOOD, NJ - As the calendar turns the page on September this weekend, the Spotswood Soccer Club is marking the beginning of October by going pink, for breast cancer awareness that is. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The campaign is launched annually by the National Breast Cancer Foundation to help raise awareness about the disease where early detection and intervention has been shown to save lives.
On Saturday, October 1, the Spotswood Soccer Club will be selling pink Breast Cancer Awareness t-shirts at the Inland Soccer Fields on Summerhill Road from 12 p.m. until 3 p.m. The cost of the pink tees is $15 and the shirts are available in sizes from small through 3XL.
In addition to helping to raise awareness, the National Breast Cancer Foundation also encourages organizations like the Spotswood Soccer Club to hold fundraisers to help provide mammograms for women in need.
