OLD BRIDGE, NJ - The Spotswood High School varsity softball team suffered its third loss in a row, losing to Old Bridge High School, 11-1 on Saturday. Old Bridge took a three-run lead in the first and had a commanding six-run lead by the fourth before a five-run sixth blew open the game for the Knights. Spotswood picked up their only run of the game in the sixth inning on a triple by Georgia Kartelins. Kartelins was two-for-three on the afternoon. The Chargers also had two hits from Savannah Robinson and Kaylisse Modeste. Jen Kane had a single for Spotswood.

The Knights got triples from Jessica Ahearn and Nicole Cashman. Ahearn had three RBIs in the game. Bri Loughlin was four-for-four for Old Bridge with a double. Loughlin also scored two runs. Jessica Gaughan had a double for the Knights as well.

Maddie Chu went the distance for Spotswood, giving up 11 runs on 16 hits and striking out one. Ashley Grudzien picked up the win on the mound for Old Bridge, giving up one run on seven hits and striking out two batters.

The loss drops Spotswood's overall season record to 5-10. The team is 4-4 in league play. Spotswood will head to Middlesex High School on Tuesday for a 4 p.m. match up.
