SPOTSWOOD, NJ - The cheers erupted loudly yesterday afternoon when Alexa Reilly netted her second goal of the game with five minutes remaining in the second overtime period to help the Spotswood High School girls varsity soccer team defeat Wardlaw-Hartridge, 2-1.

Wardlaw-Hartridge opened the scoring in the first half on a goal by Sofia Ambrosio. Reilly scored her first goal in the victory in the second half to knot the game at one. The first overtime period ended without a tally before Reilly put in the game-winner on a shot that went in just past the right goal post. Erin Thuring assisted on both of Reilly's goals.

Mia Reyes had one assist for Wardlaw-Hartridge. Hannah Yates made 10 saves for the Rams. Spotswood's Lizzie Vignuolo made eight saves in the win for Chargers.

The OT win moves the Chargers' overall record to 4-2 on the season. They will take the field on Friday, September 23 for a 4 p.m. home game against John F. Kennedy Memorial High School.
