Spotswood's Court Woes Contiune With Loss To Bishop Ahr

EDISON, NJ - It's been a tough season on the court for the Spotswood High School boys varsity basketball team. Despite a few bright spots like the addition of sophomore Matt Vento to the varsity lineup and consistent contributions by seniors JT Vento and Andrew Fuzesi as well as junior Abdullah Nieskens, the team has had difficulty putting a string of wins together. Their latest loss came at the hands of Bishop Ahr High School on January 25. The Trojans defeated the Chargers 79-51 behind the performances of Sean Kudelka and Deontae Crawford. Bishop Ahr held a 10-point lead at the halftime break and kept Spotswood to only eight points in the third quarter.

Both Kudelka and Crawford earned double-doubles on the score sheet. Kudelka netted 23 points, grabbed 11 rebounds in addition to making five steals. Crawford scored 17 points and took down 15 rebounds. Alex Santiago and Matt Panganiban both chipped in 13 points for Bishop Ahr.

JT Vento was the top scorer for the Chargers, netting 13 points for Spotswood. Fuzesi scored nine points while Nieskens added seven. Both Michael Harris and Justin Dekovics earned five points in the loss.
