SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ - The South Brunswick Police have made three arrests in connection to a stabbing that happened in the township earlier this month. All three arrests were from the South Brunswick area. Anthony Blakey (age 21 of Dayton), Ishmael Arrington (age 19 of Monmouth Junction), and Jaylon Drake (age 19 of Dayton) were all arrested and charged, according to a press release.

On October 4t at 7:41 p.m. police responded to a call and found two people stabbed in a car on the corner of Bard Drive and White Oak Court. Police alerted residents to avoid the Southridge Woods Townhouse Complex until they could assess the situation.

The two males, ages 18 and 20, were taken by South Brunswick EMS and Monmouth Junction First Aid Squad to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. One victim suffered a collapsed lung, according to a press release from the police department.

At the crime scene, police recovered latent prints, physical evidence, and a nearby Ring doorbell video that captured the assault. An investigation by Detective Rick Delucia determined that the stabbing originated from a dispute in mid-September in East Brunswick. The dispute escalated in the Southridge Woods Apartment Complex and the victims fled in their car.

Later that night, the three suspects chased the car and collided into them. The suspects exited their vehicle, smashed the window and began to assault the victims. After assaulting the victim, the suspect fled the scene.

Several hours later, the police located the suspects black Acura unoccupied half a mile away from the scene of the crash. Detectives conducted several interviews which combined with the physical evidence led to the charges.

“Violent crime is uncommon in our community, but when it occurs we will use all the resources to track down those responsible,” said South Brunswick Police Chief Raymond Hayducka in the press release. He thanked the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office and New Jersey State Police for their assistance on the case.

Blakey allegedly stabbed the victims, he is facing charges of attempted murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and aggravated assault. Arrington allegedly smashed the windows and assaulted the two males, he is charged with aggravated assault and conspiracy to commit aggravated assault. Drake allegedly drove the vehicle into the collision, he is charged with assault and luring according to the police.
