SPOTSWOOD, NJ - When the final school bell rings in June, it seems like the impending two-month plus vacation is endless. Summer reading and assignments quickly get pushed to the wayside. How many parents have heard, " Why do it now? I have all summer."

Well, with Labor Day falling a week later this year, many school districts including Spotswood are starting the academic year before the annual three-day weekend. The Spotswood School District welcomes students back on September 2. With the official back to school countdown underway, the time has arrived to dust off the assignments in preparation for the new school year.

Assignments are posted on the Spotswood Board of Education website for students entering fifth grade at the Appleby School, Memorial Students entering grades sixth through eighth as well as for honors and AP classes at the Spotswood High School. Parents and students can access the assignments via the provided link.

Supply lists for the upcoming school year are also available on each school's website. Parents are encouraged to check back in mid-August in case there are any changes or additions to the lists.
