Travels Picks for Best Category Toys from the NY International Toy Fair - STEM, Game, Globe, and ? Categories

You said, “He is in a bubble”. What?

TAPIntoTravels - The International Toy Fair of New York ended earlier this week, but we are not done telling you about all the cool new stuff coming out.

The fair was enormous with over a thousand toymakers.  However, we have selected a few toys that we believe our readers will most value and enjoy.

Every year, the Toy Association honors a number of toys in key categories.  They call them the TOTY Awards, which stands for Toy of The Year Award.

Drawing from their inspiration (and few alternative titles), we have dubbed our awards the TAPintoTravels Toy of The Year Awards or TTTOTY.  Since that is a mouthful, we have furthered shortened it to the T3oTY Awards.  It sounds like a robot’s name from Star Wars, but with the seems appropriate.

In the category of STEM toys, we really liked the polished, quality of this STEM system.  It teaches engineering and building principals  We like the old school branding and the new QC of this product, which makes it an obvious choice in this category.  Please roll the tape...

As a travel magazine delivered to you in daily bites, we value products that take little space, provide a big benefit, and can travel at the pace we do.  So, for the category of Best Travel Games, we present the following:

In our business, it is nice to sit back sometimes and reflect on our travels.  Fortunately, there are wonderful products designed to keep our location and travels in perspective.  We will simply call this award, the Globe Award.  Roll the clip...

Our last pick for today is actually an activity.  It is not a toy, but it is definitely a fun experience.  We think all of our readers (children and adults) will want this at their next birthday party.  In the category, "It Ain't a Toy, But It Sure is Fun", we present bubble party...

That concludes our award ceremony for today.  Tomorrow we will make the big reveal(s), so visit your local TAPinto local to find out our final choices.   Maybe a couple of honorable mentions.  It depends on our Publisher's schedule.

In Cold Blood by Truman Capote

In Cold Blood by Truman Capote (Random House, 1965)

In Cold Blood is, quite simply, the grand-daddy of true crime writing, dubbed by Capote, himself, as the first non-fiction novel (although Norman Mailer argued the point when he published The Executioner's Song in 1979.) The conditions under which I read In Cold Blood for the first time were pretty weird, which was another ...
