EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ - Keeping campaign promises is the mark of an effective new administration, and, in that spirit,  the "Shop East Brunswick" program begins its rollout on Thursday night.

Tomorrow, March 9th, at 7pm in the Municipal Building large conference room, there will be a meeting of volunteers interested in soliciting East Brunswick businesses to participate in the new "Shop East Brunswick" program. As proposed by the Democratic team during the recent elections, Shop East Brunswick is a rewards and incentives program designed to support local businesses and to encourage local shopping.  Shoppers can earn property tax relief by shopping in town.

Mayor Brad Cohen detailed the program during recent council meetings, noting the benefits to the township in both increasing local shopping and encouraging business growth and retention.

At the meeting, volunteers will be given literature to share with the businesses they frequent in order to explain the program and encourage those businesses to participate in Shop East Brunswick. The Mayor hopes that having many volunteers will increase the participation and success of the program, as well as involving members of the community in the success of the township.

The large conference room is located adjacent to the clerk's office and near the main entrance closest to the library parking lot.
