WEST CALDWELL, NJ - This year's Jersey Harmony Explosion, a festival where professional acapella and barbershop performers bring their talents and expertise to aspiring singers, was hosted at James Caldwell High School in West Caldwell, NJ.

"I loved hearing all the barbershop quartets sing for us. I found that was completely inspiring," said Christina Freeman, a participant in the festival. "I would definitely come back to learn new music and grow as a performer."

East Coast Sound and the Dapper Dans of Harmony performed and student singers were mentored by world-class artists, including Sweet Adelines International 2nd-Place Medlaists Class Ring, 2018 International Barbershop Quartet Champions After Hours, and New Jersey's #1 Barbershop Quartet Gimme Four.

The day's events were followed by a concert featuring both teaching quartets, both choruses, and an all-inclusive chorus directed by Douglas Carnes, Director of the Great Northern Union and the director of the festival.

"What we're really doing is trying is to encourage the kids to sing lifelong and to teach them about barbershop along the way," said Carnes.
