The Staatskapelle Weimar, founded in 1491, is one of the oldest, most illustrious orchestras in the world and we are very proud to present them in their first North America tour. Their long history is closely associated with some of the world’s best known musicians and works, including composers Johann Hummel, Franz Liszt, and Richard Strauss. They will present three of Beethoven’s greatest works, including the highly-acclaimed pianist Sunwook Kim in the delightful third concerto, and the definitive and noble fifth symphony.
