HELMETTA, NJ - It will be a doubleheader day of fun on Saturday, October 12 in the borough. Helmetta is hosting two family-friendly events. The Spotswood PTA's Touch-a-Truck will roll into the Maple Street Pavilion from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. while the Helmetta Fire Department is hosting its Car Show along Railroad Avenue from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Both events are free and open to the public.

The PTA's Touch-a-Truck was hugely popular last fall. Kids of all ages can get the opportunity to sit in and explore a school bus, fire truck, ambulance, mail truck, ice cream truck and more. The Car Show features music, vendors, food and of course cool cars in all different makes and models. There is a $10 entrance fee for cars registered prior to the event and a $15 fee on the day of the show. Trophies will be awarded in different categories. For additional information on the Car Show or to register a vehicle, contact Helmetta Fire Chief Joe Reid by telephone at 732-735-2383.
