SPOTSWOOD, NJ - Counting down to summer? Who isn't? Well, there are 28 days until Memorial Day and 33 days until S'Woodstock 2016. Mark Saturday, June 4 down on the calendar because S'Woodstock 2016 will kick off the summer fun at 2 p.m.
S'Woodstock is hosted by the Spotswood Recreation Department and will feature an outdoor concert as well as a classic car show. The featured bands will be Good to Go and Dave Mooney and the Aztec Gypsy.
Good to Go is a five-member cover band that hails from Colonia. They play an eclectic mix of 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s with some funk, R&B, motown and disco thrown in for good measure.
Dave Mooney and the Aztec Gypsy jam with a mix of alternate, folk, pop, indie and blues rock. Mooney is a local guy, listing his hometown as Spotswood on his Facebook page. He and his band have played the Court Tavern in New Brunswick along with the legendary Stone Pony in Asbury Park.
So, save the date for an afternoon of cool cars and rock and roll. S'Woodstock 2016 will take place on Saturday, June 4 from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. at Spotswood High School.
