SPOTSWOOD, NJ - Like most holidays during the coronavirus pandemic, traditions are being reinvented. The Spotswood Recreation Department's annual Halloween celebration will have a slightly different look on October 31. Instead of the usual trunk or treat and indoor pizza and dance party, the REC Department is hosting a drive-thru Rec-Tacular from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Spotswood  High School on Halloween.

Participants should come in costume and enter on North Street and drive past the Middle School to enter the Halloween display before receiving treats from the Spotswood Fire Department, EMC, the Office on Aging, the Spotswood PTA, Borough Mayor Ed Seely, the Spotswood Public Library and of course the Spotswood Recreation Department.

According to a Facebook post from Spotswood Recreation Department Chairperson Rich O'Brien, the event is open to Spotswood and Helmetta residents while treat supplies last.
