HELMETTA, NJ - The borough gets the holiday party started tonight at 7 p.m. with its annual tree lighting at the Helmetta Municipal Complex. The Spotswood Police Department is encouraging residents to arrive early because road closures will be in effect beginning at 6:30 p.m. Access to the east and westbound lanes of Main Street will be restricted to only local residents and people attending the tree lighting at Brook Place and Lake Avenue.

Parking at the Municipal Complex is for handicapped parking only. Handicap parking stickers must be visible in order to park there. Parking will be permitted along the shoulders of the eastbound and westbound shoulders. Additional parking will also be available on the eastbound side of High Street.

When the tree lighting is complete, vehicles will be allowed to exit once the pedestrian traffic has ceases. Participants are advised to dress warmly for the December 6 tree lighting. Forecasted temperatures are in the upper 20s.
