HELMETTA, MILLTOWN, SPOTSWOOD, NJ - As the Spotswood and Milltown School Districts enter week two of remote learning, Appleby technology teacher Paige Besthoff has webcast suggestions for parents to help keep kids engaged.

"CBS Evening News Steve Hartman is doing a Facebook Live webcast called Kindness 101," Besthoff explained. "He said he will entertain your children a half hour a day every day this week to give parents a break."

The webcast airs each week on Mondays at 2 p.m. Here is the link to Hartman's Facebook Live webcast.

Each Wednesday Hadi Parvoti from Code.org is hosting a webcast. The webcast will be shown at 1 p.m. on the East Coast beginning this week.
"Parents need to sign up to get a code," Besthoff said. "This webcast is meant to be watched as a family."

Bestoff added that a student could watch the webcast on their own if parents were busy working from home. The weekly webcast features Parvoti and other special guests and includes a weekly activity or challenge. There are different options for beginners, advanced students and students without a computer. Parents can sign up to receive the code online.
Finally, if parents have exhausted all the puzzles in the house and everyone is getting tired of the usual board games, the following link from Instructables Craft offers a fun activity for families to create together.
