SPOTSWOOD, NJ - Milltown Mel saw his shadow and predicted an early spring. One of the signs of spring in the Spotswood School District is the Appleby Drama Club's fifth grade play. This year the drama club will be holding on to winter until April for their production of Disney's Frozen Junior and it simply would not be February without the annual student/staff basketball game. So, save the date that brings the members of the Appleby Drama Club on to the basketball court for a matchuup against the Appleby School staff.

The annual basketball game is a fundraiser for the drama club's spring production. This year's theme in the spirit of Frozen, is Let the Sun Shine On. The family-friendly evening on Saturday, February 22 includes the basketball game, raffles, concessions and more. Tickets are $5 per person and are sold at the door. Doors open at 6 p.m. Tip off is at 6:30 p.m. All the proceeds from the evening go to support the four performance run of Frozen Junior which takes place on April 23, April 24 and April 25.

Helmetta Mayor Chris Slavicek is the play's director. This is Slavicek's 18th year as the Appleby Drama Club's director. Last year the drama club performed Mary Poppins Junior.
