SPOTSWOOD, NJ - The award-winning Spotswood PTA once again spread smiles to teachers at the Spotswood School District's Schoenly, Appleby and Memorial Schools by granting teacher wishes to start the 2019-20 school year. As educators got their classrooms ready this summer to welcome students back on September 5, members of the Spotswood PTA surprised more than 70 teachers with special gifts for their classrooms. Gifts ranged from new tables to comfy reading chairs to books to technology and beyond.
"We were extremely excited to provide over $34,000 in Teacher Wish Lists this year," said Spotswood PTA President Melissa Hallerman. "The proceeds from last year's Tricky Tray enabled us to grant over 75 teacher's wish lists."
The annual spring Tricky Tray is a hugely popular community event and fundraiser for the Spotswood PTA with all the money raised going back into the schools. The Tricky Tray is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year and will be held at the Grand Marquis in Old Bridge on Sunday, January 26. The theme for annual Tricky Tray is the Roaring 20s and unlike years past, the fun starts in the afternoon at noon.
