SPOTSWOOD, NJ - The Spotswood PTA is hosting a Chalk the Walk event on Saturday, April 4 for Spotswood and Helmetta students and staff to help welcome spring break in the Spotswood School District and to try to spread positivity during these difficult days.
"I am a huge believer that the smallest, kindest random act can change someone's outlook, day and even life," explained Spotswood PTA President Melissa Hallerman. "I am hopeful that together we can do that for our community as we Chalk the Walk."
The Spotswood PTA is asking students and staff to decorate their driveway or sidewalk with encouraging and positive drawings and messages like "Life is Good," "Love Life," "You're Beautiful" and "You're Amazing." Examples of positive drawings include hearts, happy faces, suns and flowers.
Chalk the Walk is a project movement created by the Joy Team back in 2011 as a means to spread optimism and happiness through sidewalk chalk art. For participants in need of a little positive message inspiration for their upcoming creations, visit the Chalk the Walk webpage.
